I just heard from a TxDOT representative that they’ve given approval to a contractor to replace (aka re-erect) the FM 460 sign on eastbound US 80.
The sign has been gone since the storms last April or so — and I know a bunch of friends and family members have ended up passing the exit because there’s nothing alerting them that the exit is coming up.
The representative also said there are no plans to widen US 80 right now but the local TxDOT office is working with the city to secure funds to reconstruct the eastbound exit and entrance ramps on US 80 between FM 460 and FM 740. TxDOT is in the process of proposing candidate projects for funding and this project will be submitted by our office.
The city is also working with area developers to work in the proposed improvements as the property between FM 460 and FM 740 in the area around Liberty Hill develops.
No timeline was given for either project.
I’m hoping any construction around FM 460 won’t be as slow and painful as the FM 548 intersection but I’ll be uber-thankful when those on ramps can be improved.
